About the Provider
The Center operates six classrooms: four classrooms one- to three-year-olds, and two classrooms for three- to five-year-olds; and can accommodate 70 children. Each classroom offers developmentally appropriate activities designed to stimulate the social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development. The outdoor, fenced-in playground provides opportunities for fresh air and healthy physical activity.
The center, under the guidance of the University Child Care Advisory Council, is managed by Western's community partner, Mountain Projects (Head Start). The Center is closely integrated with the university through the Division of Student Affairs. Ms. Jane Adams-Dunford, assistant vice chancellor for student affairs, is the administrator directly responsible for overseeing the center.
