| 2026-06-15 | Initial review | 3270.76 - Building Surfaces | Compliant - Finalized |
Regulation: 3270.76 Description: Building Surfaces Noncompliance Area: It was observed, in the Sensory Garden (for Preschoolers), that there is an approximate 1 1/2 foot drop on either side of a section of the walking path. Boulders and rocks line the edge of the drop-off and additional rocks of varying sizes line the bottom. This creates a potential falling hazard with a risk of landing on boulders/rocks. Correction Required: Floors, walls, ceilings and other surfaces, including the facility's outdoor play space surfaces shall be kept clean, in good repair and free from visible hazards. |

Provider Response: (Contact the State Licensing Office for more information.) Effective 6/18/26, the Stem Garden space has been equipped with signage that indicates the space cannot be used by children until the railings are installed. To remove the potential falling hazard, the facility will install railing on the sides of the bridge in the Stem Garden and will continue to restrict child access to the Stem Garden until the railing is installed. Children will not walk through/use the Stem Garden until a railing is installed in the area with the 1 1/2 foot drop on either side of the walking path. Additionally, temporary fencing will be installed which will block the 1 1/2 ft drop on either side of the walking path. |
