About the Provider
Welcome to Thomas Wharton Elementary School! As the Principal of Wharton Elementary, it is with great excitement that I anticipate the 2014-2015 school term to be a year of academic and social growth for all of our children. I welcome all members of the Wharton community to schedule a visit to witness the continued growth of our students.
We are a team of educators who work together to provide the right support for each student’s success. Our goal is to be a child-centered learning community where students achieve maximum growth in academics, creativity, and social awareness in a safe and nurturing environment. We firmly believe that success in school leads to success in life and recognize that children are our link to the future. We have a tremendous responsibility to help our children strive for excellence.
We also recognize that parents are our students’ first and best teachers, and as such need to be a critical part of our educational team. We look forward to working with you in order to give each child that comes through our door each morning the best educational experience possible. We consider parents to be our absolute partners in every Wharton student’s education, and we encourage all of our parents to be actively involved in their children’s schooling. Parent involvement can include asking your child about his or her day, helping with homework, communicating with teachers, attending school events, and coming into school as a volunteer. Our teachers invite ongoing communication with families, and my door is always open. I appreciate your input, and I look forward to partnering with you and your child in these very important first years of school.
