Description: Programs located at the L.H. Jones Family Resource Center include YVEDDI services, Head Start, Older Americans Act, Community Service Block Grant, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Transportation (Medical and General), and the Surry County Senior Center. Other Community Services located in the center include Life Span Child Care, Mt. Airy City Schools Pre-School Program, Mt. Airy City Schools youth / eLink Program, WIA Adult/Dislocated Workers Program, Yokefellow Ministries, J.J. Jones Alumni Group and The Arc of Surry County.
YVEDDI is the administrator for the L.H. Jones Family Resource Center. Organized in 1965, YVEDDI is a private nonprofit corporation designated as the local Community Action Agency which administers Human Services and Community Development Programs funded through Federal, State, County Governments, United Way, and other resources. Laws, regulations, and funds limit all services provided.
