Description: We are a parent-run cooperative preschool as identified by the International Cooperative Alliance. We were founded in 1962 when a group of interested parents decided their children needed the experience of a preschool education. These parents hired a professional teacher to begin our preschool program. In 1964, the school incorporated and in 1966 became a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation licensed by the State of Arizona.
We offer a variety of opportunities for family members to work in the classroom or to participate in, or other-wise contribute, to the preschool. This has been a very important part of our 50 years of success!
We are also approved through DES, NAU and the NAVAJO NATION. These organizations help families, who qualify, with financial assistance for preschool and child care.
Where possible, ChildcareCenter provides inspection reports as a service to families. This information is deemed reliable, but is not guaranteed. We encourage families to contact the daycare provider directly with any questions or concerns, as the provider may have already addressed some or all issues. Reports can also be verified with your local daycare licensing office.

I had frequent concerns over the year my son was at this school. The staff were often unprofessional in discussing other staff members and parents in front of students and parents. For example, I knew which families were on need-based scholarships and why a staff member got fired (not need-to-know situations). When I arrived to drop off my son following the Sandyhook shooting, staff were discussing the event, including the death of children and suicide of the perpetrator, in the presence of the children. One day a portion of my son's lunch was forgotten in the refrigerator FCP told me I could use for his lunch, and he was very hungry and grouchy when I picked him up. The accounting and billing was a nightmare. I never received a bill, and had to ask at the end of each semester for a bill. I paid it off in full each time, and then weeks after the end of the academic year FCP found services that had not been invoiced and backdated charges of over $500. They then had the audacity to tell me that the charges were overdue since they had been backdated over 30 days prior. When I tried to contest the charges, they were unwilling to discuss it at all and the executive director never returned my calls. I strongly advise parents not to use the services of FCP at any of their locations, including Marshall, Puente de Hozho, Murdoch Center, and Killip.
