I have lived in the VVL community for many years. I have had children that attended VVL and had Grandchildren that have attended VVL.
In my opinion it used to be one of the best schools in the Gilbert school district. Over the last few years it has declined. MANY of the teachers have been there for years teaching the same grade. I think they are getting tired and many are looking at retirement. Plus we have a new Principal that seems to have the attitude of 'It is my way or the highway!' His communication skills with parents are unprofessional. I have spoken to many Mothers that feel he is overbearing...Especially to women!

Last year they did not even promote the read-a-thon that has been a tradition for years.
I am so sad to see what is happening to this school that years ago went out of its way to help the students and parents of this community. I pray for the teachers and staff hoping for a turnaround getting back to the close school/ community relationship.
Many things will have to change in this school starting from the top down for a change to be seen.
