About the Provider
Children need a child-friendly environment that is safe, caring and comfortable and will promote equally all areas of a childs development; physical, social, emotional, and intellectual. Children should be provided balance, a variety of activities, and types of involvement that takes into consideration all the different learning styles. There must be enough flexibility within these planned offerings to spontaneously accommodate group or individual needs, unexpected circumstances, or personal visits. Opportuni-ties to learn how to function effectively within a group setting and become aware of the needs of others, while at the same time being accepted as an individual, are also im-portant to a young childs development and should be considered in any program. We provide a routine to allow for appropriate eating, sleeping, learning, and physical activities. This routine is flexible to the needs of the children, staff, special events and the weather. During the course of the day, your child will experience group and one-on-one activities, outdoor play, music, art, and early language and reading activities. They will also have the opportunity to participate to be helpers, doers, and watchers. The childcare center is open to parents for visits at any time. Some times are easier for staff and children. All times are interesting for parents. All holidays and birthdays will be celebrated and we encourage families to participate and share any traditions and knowledge of holidays and cultures you may have, as long as they are appropriate for the children. Typically, holidays will be celebrated with a classroom parties. We do not add religious content to our curriculum. If you feel you want to do something special for your childs birthday, the staff will be happy to help you carry it out. Devel-opmentally appropriate toys are always available for free play. Each week a new curriculum plan is posted so that you know what your child is experiencing at Nadeaus. A general schedule is also posted for the group.
