My daughter was at carolyns for a short time but while going there our experience was a nightmare. I brought my daughter to daycare ten minutes late for drop off, we had a hectic morning as we are in the middle of moving, I am 8 months pregnant, and have two other children. Upon arrival Carolyn opens the door and proceeds to yell at me infront of my child causing her to cry saying that it was unacceptable for us to be late to the care that WE pay for. When I inquired as to why bringing a two year old ten minutes late to daycare was disruptive (her words) she said that her class had just finished snack. Apparently at the end of snack time my daughter walking in would severely disrupt the other two year olds day. Against my better judgement I left only to receive a call from my husband two minutes later stating Carolyn had called him saying my daughter was ‘filthy’ with a full diaper needed to be bathed and was a mess and she would be documenting this. I immediately turned my car around went back and took photos of my daughter on the playground who was dressed in all clean clothes, including a BRIGHT WHITE skirt, clean pants, shirt, ect. When I confronted Carolyn she claimed her staff had ‘cleaned her up’. Did I mention the staff on the playground watching 15-20 kids all looked to be 14-16 years old? I have photos from my daughter and son taking a bubble bath and covering the bathroom in soap from last night, as well as photos from them snuggling at breakfast in the morning and both children are completely immaculate with clean clothes freshly bathed. Maybe before making false accusations she should consider it’s 2021 and everyone documents everything. I also recorded her yelling at me infront of my two year old for being ten minutes late (she states it’s actually 15 in the video) so obviously this woman is completely unhinged and vindictive and I would not trust my child or anyone else’s in her care.
Carolyn's Red Balloon is a high quality program my children attend and don't want to leave at the end of the day. The teachers are warm and caring and go the extra mile. Carolyn runs a well organized program that is fair across the board. My older child was more that ready for kindergarten with the excellent pre-k program. I highly recommend Carolyn's Red Balloon Enrichment Center.
This was I’m first child care and worse child care ever they my son was in the 2 year old room he’s is a very active little boy my son would be put in a high care in the Infant room left there with toys to play with alone like a time out. Was always coming home with marks I got a call early one morning From Caroline stating that they were understaffed and my son cannot come to childcare that day I called this the next day to see if things got figured out and was told by Caroline that he could not come back to childcare until further notice was not called was not explained why I never heard from her again I went there to get my sons belongings and was handed them to the crack in the door and was not allowed in had no explanation of why my son could no longer go there or why this is happening my son know is at Lund child care and I could not believe how much there’s like day and night my son and I are both very happy with Lund and great full for leave Caroline
Carolyn's Red Balloon is a poor facility to send your children. This is coming from someone who used to be employed at the center. Carolyn is a money hungry business owner who doesn't care for the well being of families or her staff members. Staff members are overworked, under payed, treated inadequately while employed and vindictively when they leave. They are worked to a busting point that they start to become mentally unstable. I am talking from experience and you do not want mentally unstable people taking care of your children. It is not fair to the kids. For many years I would be left illegally with eight-ten kids alone for hours at a time in the morning. By the time my co-teacher got there I was already exhausted by 8:30 in the morning. Adding to that I also went years with no break, and no relatable co-teacher because she has so much turn over in staff due to her aggressive blow-up approach of communicating with people. Because of this the children develop unhealthy attachment relationships there with constant fear of abandonment. The center is very clean and eye appealing. She is a very purssuasive, manipulative and a dangerous person. Since working there she has been served multiple times and is known for suing parents and calling the cops on employees when they decide to leave her. Unless you are a wealthy white suburban family with very well behaved children you do not want to be in business with this women. Please heathe this warning. It'll literally be the worst decision you will ever make. There are many centers out there that will be much better for your child.
BEWARE!!! This child care facility appears to be everything you could dream of except, if your child doesn't "fit the mold" she or he will be terminated just because. Carolyn has a reputation for "cleaning house" She has let many children go and has done so in a non professional manner. She has hurt parents in the process and has done so with no warning. Carolyn has been reported several times to the Vermont Child Care Consumer Line and Child Care Resource. If you are looking for a nurturing provider, you should look else where. This is all "business"
