Findings: Complaint states that there are two new adults working with the children in the preschool room. Each of these new staff are/have been alone with the children. Findings: Center states that 2 aides were substituting for the lead teacher in the preschool room last week and this week. Specialist does not have a criminal background checks or releases for this center for them. These two staff persons do have criminal background checks on file at the office of child care for other centers. Specialist did receive a notarized release on site for one of the aide substitutes. The employee sign in sheet showed two male person's had signed in to work. Specialist does have a criminal background check for one of these staff persons but not a notarized release. Specialist does not have either a criminal background check or notarized release for the other male staff person. When specialist arrived today all the staff were staff who are cleared. 2024-04-22 Complaint 13A.16.08.02A Open
Findings: Complaint states that a staff person was alone with 9 children in the preschool room on 4/19/24. Findings: As far as the complaint is concerned the staff person alone with 9 children in the preschool room was substituting for the lead teacher in the room who is on a leave of absence. However, the 2 year old room does not have a qualified staff person with the group. One of the staff persons is in the middle of taking the needed coursework but has not completed 1/2 of it yet to qualify for a variance. Center needs to be sure she has all the other courses and 1/2 of the preschool coursework so that she can qualify for a variance to complete the rest and submit the variance request to specialist. Center is reminded that there must be a qualified staff person with each age group at all times.
