A safe indoor and outdoor environment was not provided for the children. When the children transitioned indoor from gross motor play, one (1) little boy came to the dramatic play center and began climbing on top of the kitchen center and standing on top of the block center shelf and jumping off. The administrator went over to the child to talk them down off of the shelf safely and when the administrator stepped away, the child proceeded to climb the shelf, stand on top of the shelf, and jump off again. The staff attempted to defuse the situation, but the children continued to climb the shelves and jump off until the class returned outdoors for additional gross motor play time. | |||
