About the Provider

Description: The Seth Boyden Demonstration School was established to provide an innovative program of instruction to meet the needs of a diverse student population reflecting the integrated communities of South Orange and Maplewood. The school was designed to offer distinctive instructional opportunities and develop exemplary academic programs. The program offers voluntary admission to students throughout the district in grades K-5.

In addition to this exciting and innovative approach, there are many programs designed to develop students’ social and emotional intelligences, build character, and enhance the climate of the school. These include new student groups and friendship circles, class meetings, and several opportunities for mentoring, community outreach and service learning such as lunch buddies, Peer mediators, tutors, lunchtime book talk, poetry club, recycling club, and the Boyden Buzz student newspaper. In summary, we are a community of learners and overall, this is an exciting place to grow.
