2021-10-26 Mandatory Review 13A.15.08.01B(3) Corrected
Findings: When specialist arrived the storm door was closed but the inside door to the daycare room was open. Two school age children were observed in the daycare room. The provider was not seen. The older child (10) called out to the provider twice to say that someone was at the door but there was no answer. The child stated that the provider was changing and may be upstairs. Specialist waited outside for 8 minutes before the provider appeared in the daycare room. Provider states she was in the bathroom which is just down from the daycare room but she didn't hear her. She had the bathroom fan on and maybe that is why. The fan should remain off while in the bathroom so that the provider can hear the children and then she would be able to quickly respond to their needs. Provider is reminded that she must always be within sight or sound of the children at all times.
