Regulation: 3270.31(e)/3270.192(2)(iii) Description: Age and Training/Exp, educ., training at facility Noncompliance Area: The file for Staff person #2 did not have verification of completing 12 hours of annual training between 12/19/20-12/19/21, as required per Announcement C-21-09 for staff hired prior to 12/19/20 (See LIS Code sheet). Correction Required: A staff person shall obtain an annual minimum of 12 clock hours of child care training. A facility person's record shall include verification of child care experience, education and training following the outset of service at the facility. |
|||
|
Provider Response: (Contact the State Licensing Office for more information.) Staff person #2 had 7 hours of training by 12/19/21. Announcement C-21-09 which was effective 1/6/22, retroactively changed the tracking of training hours from anniversary year to annual 12/19/20-12/19/21, increased the training hours from 6 to 12 and made the requirement retroactive to 12/19/21. The notice distribution date gave agencies 10 working days to comply with the changes. The retroactive timeframe and limited window for compliance did not make it possible to adhere to this regulation. To correct the deficit in hours, staff person #2 completed 5 hours of training in Feb. 2022 which was credited to 12/21. |
