| Findings: Complaint alleged center is 'out of ratio and short staffed'. Complainant reported they observed a group of 6-8 children, which included four 2 year olds, with 1 staff member, on 'numerous occasions'. Complainant reported there is no pattern and it happens often. LS arrived at center at 7:10 am and observed 1 staff member with 2 children. Between 7:10 and 7:49 am, 5 more children arrived. At 7:49am, the fourth 2 year old arrived. When this 2 year old arrived, the total group of children was 7. According to the sign in sheet and staff time sheets from yesterday, 5-6-24, it appears the group was out of ratio for approximately 2 minutes on this day as well, from 8:05-8:07am, as the Aide was late arriving. LS did not observe other staff sign in sheets, so it was not determined how many other times the center may have been out of ratio. Center has mostly 2 year olds enrolled. Center is reminded when the group goes above 6 children and there are more than 3 2 year olds in the group, there should be 2 staff members present. Please send a written plan of correction, with new staffing patterns if needed, to Licensing Specialist. | |||
