| Findings: The provider's pool is currently closed and covered. We discussed the requirements and issues the provider had with funding for the pool changes. The provider will be installing fencing around the top ledge of the pool which will have a self-closing, self-latching access panel to put the ladder into the pool. The pool is an above ground pool with no additional fencing as the sides were 4 feet off the ground; this met the previous pool barrier requirements. The provider states she did not even open the pool last summer as she could not afford to make the necessary changes to the barrier. We discussed the upcoming grant money; the provider was unsure if she could use the grant money for the pool upgrades. She was advised the funds can be used to purchase the fencing as it is a regulatory requirement and affects the safety of children in care. The provider will need to install the pool barrier/fencing, utilize an in pool alarm that goes off when there is a disturbance of the water and alarm on the sliding door leading to the backyard from the basement child care area. The pool must not be opened for use until all safety processes are in place. | |||

Provider gave a new card to the child's parent and the card has not been returned. Provider sent a text message to the child's parent during the inspection.
