Description: The philosophy of Desert Spring is based on Developmentally Appropriate Practice which are guidelines set by the National Association for the Education of Young Children for quality early childhood programs. We believe that children learn through hands on experiences, by "doing", and play is valued as a child's "work". When a child is allowed to explore and manipulate materials, he learns new skills. Adults are available to provide "scaffolding" support (only enough support to assist the child in finding his own solution) and do not pressure the child that instills a fear of failure. Learning is a wonderful, rich, FUN experience, and children will be able to recognize this through positive experiences. This recognition will help them enjoy learning for the rest of their lives- thus preparing them for a successful school and life journey. Our program is designed to provide a stimulating learning environment for each child without pressuring him to succeed. Children's differing abilities are valued, and each child is expected to develop according to guidelines that take into account not only age expectations but individual differences and the culture from which the child is surrounded by.
Where possible, ChildcareCenter provides inspection reports as a service to families. This information is deemed reliable, but is not guaranteed. We encourage families to contact the daycare provider directly with any questions or concerns, as the provider may have already addressed some or all issues. Reports can also be verified with your local daycare licensing office.
