The developmental approach means teaching in ways that match the way children develop and learn. Their growth is divided into four developmental domains: Intellectual / Cognitive growth - centers on the mind and how the mind works as children develop and learn. Social growth - centers on the development of skills for interacting with others. Emotional growth - refers to the development of self-esteem and self-control. Physical growth - has to do with development of the body and its parts.
