I absolutely disagree with Rachel. This place is all-around a great school, the staff & the directors. Have you ever volunteered or worked in daycare? I challenge you to try it for a week and you will have a new perspective and appreciation for the work they do. They need more positive support than negative ones. People who posts negative reviews in my opinion are kinds of people who see a glass half full. My kids thrived (all 3 went to MLL). One of my boys had speech & adhd so I can say first-hand, they do amazing. keep up the good work everyone & don't let negativity tear you down!
I would not recommend this child care to anyone, especially to someone who’s child is speech or occupationally delayed. No child care is perfect, but I didn’t have major issues until he was moved up to the 3K classroom. Since he started at age 2 they have struggled potty training my son. We were finally making progress in the 2.5year classroom. Due to his age, they moved him up to the next class. It was then that we started to have issues. It took having a meeting with the teacher, therapists, and office staff to get a plan together which included taking him every hour (for consistency) and starting a potty chart. Early on, there was progress, that I could tell, at school. Then after a few weeks, I noticed the progress diminish. My son’s therapists saw (while in the classroom) the teachers no longer acting interested in potty training my son. This coincides with the timing of my son coming home with butt irritation towards the end of our time at the center. We decided to pull him from the center after twice in a week he was still in urine-soaked underwear at pick up. We were given excuses as to why he was not changed (well after the hour mark that was set up in the meeting). Once we had given our notice, I realized that the timing of my son refusing to go potty coincided with him being wet the next time they took him. I asked Terry (the center’s director) if they checked to make sure he was dry, as this might be the cause for him not wanting to go potty. Terry did not have an answer to that question the first time I asked, but she had an answer the next day. In visiting other child cares for possible placement, they have a policy of not moving a child out of the potty-training room until they are potty trained. This is clearly a policy that needs to be implemented here as the issues that we experienced would not have occurred. This gives the teachers more incentive to get the children potty trained and ensures the teacher potty training the child know what they are doing. According to his therapists, my child does not need a special child care. He just needs a good one.
