I have been using Sunshine House on Teal for almost four months now and have nothing but amazing things to say about the teachers and directors. My daughter is slow to warm up to people but you would not be able to tell. She loves her teachers and waves bye to everyone there. They are assisting with potty training which has been very helpful. After being at another center for about nine months, I am extremely pleased with our decision to enroll her at Sunshine House.
Yesterday I went to the school around lunchtime to observe why my toddler would not eat the food. They served whole tortilla, dry refried beans, and peaches. My toddler did not eat any and most of his class did not eat either. I did a query of the other daycares in the area and learned no other school serve food like this . They serve nutritious meals and had chicken and rice for lunch which is age appropriate. Pictures are available upon request. My son was crying and no one tried to comfort him. One of the staff name Anita mentioned that the state said they only have to offer the food. For breakfast, the kids were served muffins that was not cut. I asked Anita could you have cut the muffin and no response was given.
Earlier yesterday, I received a call from the director who stated my son did not have a change of clothes. I am very meticulous about my children and knew I had left 2 change of outfits with a pair of socks. According to her, her staff said that there were no clothes for my son. Now this is the same staff that denied that my son had fallen at school and no incident report was done. It was only when I kept pressing the issue a staff member confirmed he had fallen. He had a bruise eye for about a week. I realize that toddlers do fall but again my concern was dismissed because a staff person lied and indicated he came to school like this and was noted on the checkin log.
