In room 1, three children were sleeping behind a gated area and not visible to staff sitting at a table in the front of the room. 3-23-23: In room 1, ensure that staff can see children sleeping behind the gated area while sleeping. Staff was sitting at the table in the front of the room feeding infants and 2 children were sleeping in cribs which were not visible to staff.

Disinfectants shall be used as follows: the center shall disinfect those items specified in N.J.A.C. 3A:52-7.7(a)3 with a solution that shall be a commercially prepared disinfectant that indicates it kills bacteria, viruses, and parasites. This solution shall be used in accordance with label instructions.

Violation Observed: Ensure that the center washes and disinfects surfaces as required, with a commercially prepared disinfectant used in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. The center was using a disinfectant product that requires a 10 minute wait time. 3-23-23- Staff were spraying the cleaner and not letting it sit for the required 10 minutes.

All areas to be disinfected shall first be washed with soap and water.

Violation Observed: In room 1, ensure that all surfaces are cleaned with soap and water prior to disinfecting. 3-23-23- Staff need to ensure they are completing a 2 step process of soap and water first. Staff in room 5 were only doing 1 step of a disinfectant on the diapering surfaces.
