| A safe indoor and outdoor environment was not provided for the children. In space #7 and 8 the classrooms for infants, I observed both infant classrooms to be too dark with the overhead light turned off. Both infant classrooms did not have windows to provide natural light. The rooms were too dark for staff to adequately observe and document the infant’s sleep positions, skin color, breathing, level of sleep, and body temperature when visually checking sleeping infants every fifteen (15) minutes and recording the required information on the Sleep Chart. | |||

I understand children bite, but the lack of timely notification coupled with it being mischaracterized by the teacher as a "bump up" is unacceptable. At the urging of the director, we will be finding a new preschool for the following reasons that have all been addressed with staff and admin:
1) Emma coming home with dried poop on her bottom multiple times a week.
2) Emma having a beet red diaper area, not just her bottom, due to the lack of use of the cream provided.
3) Loss of the cream 3 days in a row despite being found and then given to the staff at the end of each day.
4) Loss of authorization sheets for the use of the cream. We have filled out 4.
5) Watching another child shove Emma while Brenda sat on a table on her phone. Then huff and shake her head as she had to put her phone away to console my child. THEN wrongly blame Emma for running too fast. "well if you hadn't been running, that wouldn't have happened." Perhaps you should know the facts before chastising my child as I pointed out to BOTH teachers that day.
6) Emma's items being strewn between the 1 and 2 year old classrooms for over three days. Paci, blanket and lovey didn't get moved until Thursday the week of her moving into the 2 year old classroom.
7) The untimely notification of our child being bitten by another. 4 hours is unacceptable.
8) The comment, retracted or not, of us finding another daycare since we're unhappy. We are unhappy because time and time again, Bridge of Hope falls short of the expectations instilled in us by the staff and admin.
We pay $200 a week for proper child care and education. This is not a small sum. I understand getting frustrated at children and wanting to pull your hair out. I get that way with one, much less twelve. That is not an excuse, however, for everything going on.
At the urging of the director to find new childcare, even though the statement was apologized for and retracted, we will be doing exactly that. As such, I expect the rest of the tuition already paid for this week to be refunded.
