I have had my child at Almost Home going on 3 years now and he has learned so much. Mary and her staff are amazing with the children. They do so much with them and make preschool and afterschool interactive, hands on and fun! I love that they use rewards and praise along with time out for structure and consequences. I have never seen mary or any of her staff physically hurt any child they love all the children and truly care about them and their well-being.
My son has been going to Almost Home for 4 years now. He had speech and social issues when first going and Mary and her staff did everything they could to help him get ready for kindergarten. Now that he's at elementary school he's in the afterschool program and is excelling in every subject. This daycare is very attentative to every child's needs and has a better chance to address each child since its a smaller center. I would recommend them completely.
I personally saw the director Mary Sacco use police restraining techniques on a 5 year old. Her staff is uneducated, which can be seen by the spelling in all the signs and post boards. They also do not serve proper nutrition to the children as can be seen on their daily menus. My son got 2 staph infections while at this daycare, which they were shut down back in feb 2011 for mice dropiing and cat feces. Please read all the reviews and comments for this daycare. One of the daughters/employees also admitted to restaining my son- which is 2. Our children do not deserve to be treated as if they are prison inmates. Please do your homework, I wish to God that I had done a better job of that. That is a burden that I will always carry and my son in the end paid for. I have reported them to CPS and I hope they shut them down for good.
