Went DOWNHILL FAST!!! This used to be a decent place 1-2 years ago.
Straight facts:
• 9 State issued violations from 03/08/22 thru 12/20/23 - license # 64000362 (one of these violations is that not all teachers were CPR/First Aid certified - that's your kid's life we're talking about!)
• Most recent violation (12/20/23) was due to them not taking kids outside (including days where it was warm outside)
* they weren’t even smart enough to take them out while the State auditor was there (read their report, it’s hilarious!)
* a teacher told the kids it’s the parents responsibility to take them outside, not the teachers’. If it’s not the teachers’ responsibility, why did the State issue a violation?
* the Director sent home a nasty letter to the parents in regards to the violation because someone had reported them to the State for not taking the kids outside. The vibe of the letter was “I better not find out it was you”. If you were doing what you’re supposed to be doing it wouldn’t be an issue to begin with, right?
• One of the highest priced daycares in Rocky Mount with far less bang for your buck. No breakfast provided. No field trips or other activities. Very little in terms of arts & crafts activities.
• FALSE ADVERTISEMENT: They advertise as having “pre-k” for the 4-5 year olds; this is now a lie. Their pre-k teacher left sometime around early 2023. The current teacher is not certified and does NOT do any kindergarten preparation. The only thing I saw in terms of “teaching” anything were name tracing worksheets.
• Their two top teachers, who were in the 3 year old & pre-k rooms (the ones who actually taught, had organization, interacted with the class, did arts & crafts and other activities), left back-to-back in early 2023. When those teachers left children started dropping like flies. They lost an entire classroom worth of kids. That was a major red flag!
Observations:
* Zero organization & structure in the 4-5 year old room
* Kids hit, kick, and straight up beat one another. I witnessed the same little girl whoop up on another little girl (same girl) TWICE. Neither time was anything done to the culprit nor was the parents of the little girl who got beat on notified of the issue. The 4-5 year old room looks like a WWE match on any given day at any given time.
* The Director will avoid dealing with any issues at all costs. She will be sure she's not around if you have issues and stick her assistant with the problem. In fact, in reading other reviews of other facilities one of the top complaints I see is that the director is rude; it's NO different here.
Suggestion:
