My daughter attended Collins Head Start on Merrick Blvd, and I ultimately decided to remove her because I was very unhappy with the way her situation was being handled. From my experience, there seemed to be constant complaints about my daughter instead of patience and support while she adjusted to the classroom. I was repeatedly told that she needed a SEIT/one-to-one support, and I felt the situation was being presented as though my daughter could not function in the classroom. That was very upsetting to me as her parent. There were also times when I received calls about her crying and was asked to pick her up early. My daughter had previously been happy to go into class, so the change in her behavior concerned me. I did not feel that enough effort was being made to understand why she was suddenly uncomfortable. Another incident that concerned me was when my daughter got a bump after coming into contact with a door at school. As a parent, situations involving my child’s safety are extremely important to me. I also felt that the communication from the principal became overwhelming because so much of the conversation focused on services and what was supposedly wrong, rather than on my daughter’s strengths, progress, and helping her feel comfortable. I believe young children need warmth, patience, encouragement, and time to adjust. I did not feel this was the right environment for my daughter, so I made the decision to move her to another school where I hope she will be treated with more patience and understanding.

The name of office staff is Esha,she is too much rude....
Today I was too much sick....I was came from Doctor office in the school...
And this reason I came 30min early to pick my daughter...
I said to her," please can I wait in the office room?"
She said,"You have to wait outside from the school."
I said," my house is too much far from the school.If i go back home,I can't come back on time..
That's way I can't go back, and in outside too much hot...that's way I can't stay outside....

But she said ,"no you can't stay here,wait outside..."

This reason I was waiting outside for 30min ,and I am getting more sick.....


I just want to say "in this school,office staff are not understanding to parents problem....

Soory to say that ,I am gonna take out my daughter from this school as soon as possible .....
