I have used this provider for less than 6 months

This place has very minimal activities and toys for kids to play with. The owner even uses a pack and play as a “baby gate” to restrict the children from entering the kitchen are. I guess it says a lot when a daycare center cannot even invest on a $35 gate. Being a first time parent not knowing what to expect, I had my infant attend daycare here. As my child progressed in his milestones, I realized it was NOT a facility that is equipped to care for infants. There are no mats for the infants to safely crawl on, only hardwood floors and a thin area rug, and no edges are bumpered for the children’s safety. There is also an unsafe fireplace hearth right in the area where the kids are allowed to play. My babysitter has walked in on my son on a cold, hard, tile floor with the patio door open. He had a fever that night and we ended up at urgent care. We have text communications and hospital records to show for. We offered to provide a mat for our child since he rolls around, sits up and falls over head first and we felt unsafe for him to be doing that on the Daycare’s bare floors. The owner was resistant. According to her “she lives there too, it will be unsafe for the children and it will start a cascade of special requests from other parents”. What about the safety of
Our child? I tried to level with her and very kindly requested, as a neuro-trauma ICU nurse Who sees head injuries on the daily at work, yet my legitimate concerns nor the safety of my child was in her best interest. The caretaker does not communicate well. She refuses to talk during “operating hours” because according to her she is busy with the kids but at the same time, will not reply after 6PM because she states she’s already off. It’s a slap in the face because when you drop off your child in the morning, she has no makeup on and when you pick up, she’s fully made up and has her hair done up. Bright, red lipstick and all. I refused to pay her any longer for doing her makeup rather than addressing parents concern. When we reached out to her to convey that my son will no longer be attending her Daycare, upon the advise of his doctor (due to the lack of safety measures available) her only response was “ok, I need a 2 week cancellation fee”. It would have been slightly comforting had she asked if my son was doing ok. Rather, she was concerned about the cancellation fee. She also requires a 2week full payment for when she’s closed for her annual vacation. From the time she closed for vacation, to the week she reopened and the next 2 weeks that she requires payment for cancellation, she’s receiving $1000 from me and will not even meet halfway to work out a deal. You do not have to take my word for it, just request a tour and the place will speak for itself.

Owner response : It is very sad to see that you are trying to defame my business but the entire time your little one was with me he was always well taken care of. I understand that you are first time parents and anyone who has children can tell you that we all go through this. However, I've been in business and fully licensed for over 5 years and I have been in the industry with major facilities for over a decade. My daycare has to be not only be approved for safety but also routinely checked and believe me, I make sure that it is well ABOVE the standards of licensing. Safety and cleanliness are among my top priorities and I could never have it any other way for the children that are with me. I've had the privilege of taking care of many infants and trust me when I say that your child was NEVER in harms way and was always a happy and smiling joy while in my care. All of your concerns were addressed and I made sure that I provided extra special care but I also gave you my professional opinion over those concerns. However me texting you was done only as a courtesy because I know what it is like with your first child and I wanted to put you at ease but as I told you, my primary concern is always with the children first. Calls with any kind of concern were always welcome and I was constantly communicating with you as much as possible during the entire time. You said that the doctor advised you not to bring him in because of safety but I never got a doctors note. You were given a tour of my daycare before signing your little one with me and you were given my handbook which states my cancellation fee but you never addressed and issue with either my safety or my policies until now when I have not wanted to either reduce my cancellation fee or waive it. It is truly a shame that you had to slander my business with 2 separate reviews (husband & wife) in such a hateful manner.
