Bright Beginnings Academy

My rating is not based on how the teachers treat the children they are GREAT!!!! my child loves his teacher's when they stay. My rating is for the director. The main director she is not so nice to her employees. The way she talks & treats her employee's is uncalled for & speaking with someone over this lady does not do any good due to them being friends. The other director is so so so sweet. As a mom its hard to see teachers come & go come & go. Think its about time someone let this director know parents are seeing & hearing this an we are not happy with her behavior & us & our children getting to know a teacher & she runs them off.

This is the best place a parent could send their children for day care. My kids love this daycare and the staff is very caring. Be careful if you take the advice of that angry fellow who rated this daycare very low. I think I would have been a lot more creative and teach my child what to do if a bully was brothering him. Kids are going to get bumps and bruises no matter where they are

Bright Beginnings Academy is hands down the best place you could send your child.  My boys started attending in late 2009 and have loved it since.  The teachers and administrators are ALWAYS so nice and caring with my boys.  I feel like they genuinely care for my children.  My 7 & 4 year old (who attend the facility) along with my other children, were involved in a major car accident and was rushed to the hospital.  The director of Bright Beginnings and a teacher were immediately at the hospital to check on my kids one of which had an extended stay in ICU, they were also at the funeral for my brother who did not survive the accident.  I feel like they truly love my family and I thank God for blessing me with such a great facility - that is hard to find.

I have a child that attends bright beginnigs academy and I really love it.  Im sorry that the man who obviously took 20 min to write a nast comment had a bad experience but you cant please everyone.  Its hard to find a place to leave your child that you trust. They are very friendly and the facility is well maintained and clean-that is extremely important to me personally.  Anywhere you go there will be bad kids wheather your child attends or you work there, there is only so much that can be done to discipline a toddler.

IF YOU TRULY LOVE YOUR CHILD, DO NOT EVEN REMOTELY CONSIDER SENDING THEM TO BRIGHT BEGINNINGS!

I was absolutely appalled at how horribly the administration and staff handled a bullying issue with another child being aggressive toward my son.

My son repeatedly told me that another child was hitting him and pouring dirt in his hair (the latter I saw firsthand when I picked him up and asked him why there was dirt in his hair, for two consecutive days and he told me who had done it) but I (foolishly) had faith that the teachers had dealt with the issues as this bully was almost always in time-out when I dropped my son off or picked him up (2-4 days a week).  It was when we had come home from school, on Wednesday evening, that my son told me the other student had hit him (again). I decided that this had gone on long enough and resolved to discuss the issue with his teachers and the administration the next morning.

That next morning, December 9, 2010, we got up, I told my son we were going to school.  He used to be so excited about going and he used to love it!  Today, he was beside himself. He broke down and began crying, saying that, ''…[the bully] would hit him.''’  When we got to school, I voiced my concerns to his two morning teachers.  They stated they’d never seen the bully hit my son, and that my son had never said anything about this to them but they agreed to keep a watchful eye.  When I spoke to the administration, on my way out, they made excuses and actually defended the bully - even though I had also personally witnessed this bully hitting and shoving other children and told them as much; however, I was still iffy on what to do.  It was when I picked my son up, that evening, and I spoke with his evening teachers, one of whom actually began arguing with me over my concerns, that I knew the only decision was to remove my son as it was obvious his safety, and my concerns for his well-being, were not a primary concern of the staff or administration.

And, as if I needed further convincing, as his evening teachers and I were standing in his classroom, in the middle of our ''discussion,'' the bully walked up to another child, (who was listening to us, less than 6' away) and the bully proceeded to jump onto this child's back.  The child fell to the ground, screaming in pain as the bully began pulling EXTREMELY hard on this innocent child's ear, and continued to do so until one of the teachers pulled them apart.  I stated to the teacher, ''That’s exactly what I’m talking about!''  The teachers did nothing to the bully except to say ''that was not nice,'' and I knew with certainty I needed to get my son away from this place.

Today, December 13, 2010, I had the displeasure of speaking with the administration again.  They began making accusations that my son was now lying, even after what I’d seen that past Thursday in conjunction with my witnessing this bully being physically abusive to other children throughout my son’s attendance (well over 6 months).  More than once, I’d even heard some of the teachers saying this bully was a discipline problem.  However, now the administration began saying that my son HAD told his teachers about the bully hitting him but that the bully was with another teacher when my son claimed it was supposed to have happened, so they ‘’knew’’ he was lying (as though a 2, about to turn 3, year old knows the difference between 1 minute ago and 1 hour ago).  You may recall the teachers originally stated my son had never once said the bully had done anything to him before, and now they change their story?

I would highly, highly recommend you not even remotely consider taking your child to this school.  It is a veritable nightmare of mismanagement with an absolute lack of ability to provide your child with a safe, stable and nurturing learning environment.

Bright Beginnings is a wonderful place. They are very caring and really take great care of my little one. I feel so blessed that I found a place where I know my child will be well taken care of. I would highly recommend Bright Beginnings to anyone looking for quality childcare, they are great!
