Description: We have a mixture of organized activities and free play periods. We have a regular circle time daily that often starts with the children telling something about themselves;we discuss the weather and the calendar; we sing songs and listen to stories; we do a movement activity; we read a story and ask them questions about the characters and plot. We do painting and drawing and other crafts during the week. Everyday, except in the bitter cold or heavy rain, we go outside and do such things as play tag, swing, slide, play in the sandbox, cycle, play soccer, frisbee, basketball, slide in the snow etc. We try to give the children in our care a stimulating time and make an effort to increase their cognitive, physical, artistic and emotional and social skills.

I have to disagree with the other commenters. My child went to this center for 2 and a half years. The owners are friendly and professional. If they don't seem that way at first, it is because their first concern is with the children in their care. My son enjoyed going to school there, and I heartily recommend it. This is a 'family' atmosphere - very warm and inviting for the kids. My son had so much fun doing all sorts of activities - going to a farm, the museum, playing sports and games, etc. Jeff and Noreen are exceptional people.
I went to meet with Aurora Daycare yesterday and felt the same way--they appeared to be over capacity, the house was cold dark and dirty, they cost more than any of the other daycares I've reviewed so far. Staff, especially owners, did not put off a friendly, welcoming feeling. Definitely nowhere I would send my child!
Aurora daycare puts on a very good front when you go visit to enroll your child, but behind closed doors they are a very poor establishment. They are constantly over ratio, they lie to parents about the childrens daily activities, they are very dirty and do not clean on a daily bases, they do not follow state regulations unless someone is there from the state to check, they keep their extra toys in their moldy basement and do not clean them before giving them to children or babies, and they are very rude and dishonest with their staff. I would never send my child there because of the things I have heard from former employees of aurora daycare. Personally I think they need to be shut down because of their lack of skills and knowledge. None of the staff including the owners have a college degree in early childhood education and they are not educated on how to teach children or run a good daycare.
