I toured the school with my son. It is beautiful and has a great location. Everything was great. I was then talking about enrolling my son and he started to cry my son is 2 years old. THe lady giving the tour seemed to be put off by my sons crying. She said she would call me back the next day. I did not hear from her, so I figured she was busy. I called her and all of a sudden there was at waitlist. Not previously mentioned on the tour and when I was going to enroll hem. If a daycare can not deal with a two year old crying and tell me what 2 year old does not cry when they see cool toys they can not play with, why is the lady even in daycare. It seems they only what certain kids. Well that is just my take.

While the facility is beautiful, with a wonderful location, and a great curriculum, the staff (excluding the supervisor) were less than welcoming to myself or my child. My child has asthma and had been primarily cared for in home. This would have been his first experience in a preschool setting and he was so excited to visit the facility with me. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, the staff felt that he was 'too much' for their teachers/staff to handle. I strongly believe that they only accept (to be read 'discriminate')according to child behaviors - filling their classrooms with only the most well behaved children (mostly girls). I have worked in the education field for years, at both elementary and daycare levels, and I have always treated all students equally. I have never known a facility to purposely turn away a child/family based upon behavior/learning differences! I was appalled, since they had accepted my down payment, but the manager of the preschool called to say that they would return the check and had decided that my son was not a good fit for THEIR program. They were right, he was, and still is, not a good fit - he's an individual, with a magical personality, and the special ability to make others smile. No, he's not a good fit for this school, he's better than the school, and requires a better school setting than this to keep up with him, and give him the education (on both academic AND social) that he deserves. Garrett's way would do well to remember to lead by example when giving social lessons!
