Get Set Learning Center

This child care center is beautiful. It has excellent staff who care about the children's growth and development. They are kind and care about their families. All of the teachers have passion for the field.

I couldn't be happier with the services Parkland Academy of Early Learning has provided for my child. My child will be attending Kindergarten this upcoming school year; she is more than prepared. Being in the Young Einstein classroom has taught her how to use her imagination, read and simple math(addition and subtraction). I would recommend to any parent looking for a advanced start to their child's education.

I have to begin this review by indicating that this school was good when it was first opened. The school showed great potential. The curriculum was excellent and the class size at the time was manageable. There was a diversity of students from various backgrounds. However, over time, the school's standard deteriorated. They combined classes because they refused graduate kids out the school - the combination of kids with a wide range of ages caused a lot of distractions and made class sizes unmanageable. They was a lot of uncontrolled chaos when you picked up kids; at times, the kids sat around playing on electronic devices or watching TV while the teachers sat in the corner with their personal phone in hand. There was no control over the kids and there was no positive reinforcement for good behavior or corrective course of action for misbehavior. There was discriminatory behavior (verbal & nonverbal) towards my child; this discriminatory behavior was something they had exhibited in the past towards children of similar background. Parents of these children have chosen to leave the school rather than subject their children to the vile environmental.
The school recently underwent a change in management/ownership which was uncomfortable for most parents including myself. The new owners lacked compassion for the children, they are brutal and have no respect for the parents or the children. They spoke of the children with the parents in a demeaning manner.

Parkland Academy is an exceptional school. My child has been enrolled at other centers within the Lehigh Valley area, and nothing compares to Parkland Academy’s outstanding curriculum and dedicated teachers. The teachers are very professional and create a warm, fun, and welcoming atmosphere. My child has learned how to print alphabet letters, numbers, and is reading books! I am always kept aware of my child’s progress and have received video clips through e-mail of my child singing and learning with his friends. How wonderful it is to feel that I know that my child is learning and is safe while at work. I encourage you to take a tour of the school and look at their Facebook page. I would like to inform you of the extraordinary work that Ms. Suzanne has been doing with my daughter. She has gone above and beyond the call of duty. She has met and even exceeded my expectations. My daughter is thriving in her class and Ms. Suzanne challenges her to reach her full potential. I am very pleased and want to praise Ms. Suzanne for her hard work and dedication. Thank you Parkland Academy for setting the foundation of learning for my child.

Good points: Small class size, secure, new facility. Bad points: Our experience was disappointing. We were very excited about this school initially. However, the children watched t.v. every day. Every morning when I dropped off and every evening when I picked up the t.v. was on. They also watched movies for "special occasions". In my opinion it was way too much. Also, there was one teacher in particular who really did not know how to interact with the kids. She scolded kids almost to the point of yelling and humiliating. I witnessed this repeatedly and was uncomfortable with it. This was not the way we wanted to teach respect and self-confidence. We no longer attend.
