my child has been at the Columbia location since he was 6 weeks old. they have been absolutely Amazing!! the staff is always friendly and cheerful and always happy to see us. I could not have picked a better daycare for my son. I Highly recommend wonderful beginnings to anyone in the Columbia area! you won't regret it! they are the best!
Wonderful Beginnings has an OPEN DOOR POLICY if any commentators or observers would like to see the center for themselves then like I said before Wonderful Beginnings has an OPEN DOOR POLICY.
Parents are able to stop by at any time of the day to check on their children.I stop by and see my child during my lunch break and I never hear teachers yelling or my child unhappy.
The people who post bad reviews on successful businesses are pathetic. They are truly jealous and need to take a look in the mirror and do something with their own lives instead of spending their entire day posting negative reviews on pizza places, daycares, resturants, etc because at the end of the day these businesses will still be successful.

And if you reported them to DSS then a DSS worker had to come and investigate correct???
IF DSS came is investigated and saw that Wonderful Beginnings wasn't following guidelines then they would have been shut down that day.
Obviously Wonderful beginnings is doing an awesome job becase they are still in business and actually full to capacity right now! my children LOVE it. My children are able to talk and tell me how much fun they have and I am complety satisfied!

I am a co-owner of all of the Wonderful Beginnings Child Development Centers. I appreciate all of the comments. I never even realized people came here to make comments. But these comments will help as we continue to grow as a child development center.
I would like to say that all of my centers provide quality childcare for all of the children who are enrolled. We love to see the children learn and grow on a daily basis. We have very high standards for all of teachers and require that all teachers follow all WB policies.
As far as the ABC Voucher comment, I appreciate you bringing this to my attention. Our facilities are non-discrimating and each child is treated equally. ABC Voucher is a wonderful program for those that need childcare and but can not afford it. We support this program because we understand that childcare is not affordable for everyone. Again thank you for your comment.
On the positive side, We have currently have a wonderful Summer Camp program which includes the Summer Reading Program. Our goal is to have a fun AND educational Summer. The children have already had trips to the library, bowling trip, and movies. And because they read a certain amount books we had a Water Day this past Week.. And the children had a blast!
And thank you Wonderful Parent, that is goal to make every child love coming to Wonderful Beginnings. :)..
To happymotherof 3, you are ridiculous. Regardless of the color of the owner, they are disrespectful to people there. The kids do NOT come first. The money does. If you go to a facility owned by white people, it would be the same thing. They make calls to staff when they are off the clock and post things on employees facebook walls about how they aren't doing their job right. Im black, and I don't like the owners of this facility. My children will NOT be attending their daycare again...and when they get shut down, it will be for the better.
This comment is to Mom2 why would the director say any negative comments towards you being on ABC voucher if the center's main objective is to provide affordable child care to parents who are on ABC voucher. Obviously you liked the child care center alot but once you had to be corrected or talked to you got offended. Also you said you were volunteering...if the director was so mean to you why would she let you volunteer at her center and let your child attend?? This makes no sense to me. Wonderful Beginnings is a great environment for all children. Please Think before you try to slander a successful black owned business.
This review is of the branch in Summerville SC. Recently I was dropping off my child and walked in on the Director of the facility berating a parent/volunteer in front of her child. My understanding is that she was not volunteering anymore and withdrawling her child based on concerns she saw while volunteering. The women ended up leaving the facility in tears with her child. My concerns are what a volunteer would see that a parent wouldn't that would make her withdrawl her child and the Director making a personal attack on the women concerning her participation in the goverment funded ABC program. It is certainly not the Director's place to judge a person because they have to use this program, especially when she is taking money from said program. And the things she said certainly shouldn't have been said in front of a child. This has certainly put up a caution flag for my child's continuation in the program at this facility.
There is a branch of this daycare center in Summerville, SC my children were attending this daycare until my 12 month old was neglected by them. When I picked up my daughter the person that had been caring for her all day said that my daughter was lethargic and sleeping all day and that she didn't call me because she didn't want to bother me. My daughter had a 105.5 degree fever and was dehydrated from the fever when I picked her up. She had to be rushed to the Emergency Room because she was so sick at this point. Had my child been at the daycare center for longer that day there is no telling what could have happened to her. This facility failed to take her temperature or even use common sense and contact someone immediatley when they noticed that my daughter was ill. Instead of acting in a responsible manner they allowed my daughter to lay around all day while her fever got higher and higher and she became more and more dehydrated. I truely hope that this does not happen to anyone else's child because it was extremely scary to see my child so incredibly sick and know that no one tried to help her all day while I was at work.
Wonderful Beginnings is a wonderful child development center. I reccomend this center to any parent looking for a clean, relaiable, bright, friendly, and overall enjoyable facility to bring their child(ren) to. I have a toddler and a 2 year old who attend their Columbia location and everytime i arrive to drop or pick up the teachers greet me and my children with a smile on their faces and make my children feel so cozy. You know when your child likes or does not like a something children do not hide their feeling so for my children to run into the center in the mornings and not want to leave in the afternoons that means that there are great things going on and these teachers are all about the children. So like i said before i highly reccommend Wonderful Beginnings to all parents.
