What can I say- I was at the growing place for 1 year. It was going well , til January 2023 - my co workers were very rude and they were saying that I was a negative impact on the kids, and when I wanted to talk to the Owner (Kelly Ford) She just said go to the office and talk to them. But when my co workers wanted to talk to Kelly. She was there in person. For my last couple months, my co workers were not doing their job with potty training. I was telling them that they had to take the Pottiers to the bathroom every hour on the hour. But they did not like to hear that. I am a mother of two. They are young and are not mothers. The office moved me out of the room. But the kids would come up to me and say I need to go to the bathroom, when we were outside. Then they put a new hire in the classroom and she even said that they were not taking the kids to the bathroom. It's sad.
The teachers are pretty good here. However, the center could improve on business matters. I have heard teachers complain that they are "tired of the way things are done around here". But this was during inclement weather so maybe there was some bad communication. They don't seem to always have things together. I also find that the younger people they have to help out in the Summer, do not necessarily seem qualified. They don't always seem attentive to kids. Also, the owner, Kelly Ford, could stand to have better customer service skill, but there are administrators who have better people skills. I have tried a few daycare centers because of moves, or change in job hours, location convenience, and this has been the center I was least satisfied with overall.
If you are looking for a more diverse environment, then this may not be the place for you, but the kids do learn quite a bit.
BEST place for your children to grow! We have been part of The Growing Place family for five years and have loved every minute! Kelly (owner) has molded a staff that treats every child as if they were their own. The Growing Place is the perfect blend of an in-home nanny service and a school environment. Every teacher provides love and individual attention as well as structured learning in every classroom – at every age. Weekly lesson plans that are shared throughout the facility teach children an array of topics from Cat In The Hat week (my favorite) to Dinosaur week to Community Helpers week. An extremely knowledgeable staff made up of degreed and certified teachers enhance the development of children at every age. The facility is immaculate with ample indoor and outdoor space for children to play and learn! We only wish that The Growing Place would expand through 12th grade!
