Medications including prescription and non-prescription items were not stored in a locked cabinet or other locked container. While observing the outdoor play area, I observed an unlocked book bag containing emergency medication laying on a child size picnic table. The teacher placed the book bag on her back during my visit. We discussed that emergency medications do not have to be in locked storage, however they must be carried on a staff person, or stored at least 5 vertical feet from the ground (floor if inside). | |||
