Description: Sherwood Elementary is a small school with a big heart. “Children first” is not just a slogan but an attitude that is exhibited every day by the teachers, staff and volunteers. It is because of high expectations that the children of Sherwood Elementary excel not only with test scores, but with positive attitudes and enthusiasm for learning. We believe that the strengthening and perfecting of a democratic society is a responsibility of the school and home. We will strive to develop and enhance learning skills, and provide enrichment opportunities of all students. This will enable students to think and work independently and cooperatively toward solutions to the problems, as well as develop skills, and cultivate inquiring minds. Ultimately, the substance of our educational program will enhance the growth of our students as individuals. As our students progress and mature they will emerge as responsible citizens and contribute significantly to family, community and society now and for years to come.
