About the Provider

Sensations in Learning is a Nature Based Early Education Program that believes strongly in the Next Generation pedagogy, mission and systems. Sensations in Learning is a Next Generation Nature Based 5-STAR program. All of the Sensations in Learning Educators understand the Next Generation Pedagogy of encouraging curiosity and exploration through the lens established by those who have gone before us. The founders of Next Generation have selected the features of the Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and Waldorf models to create a progressive and holistic approach that has been shared with and is now in use at each of the Next Generation programs. As a team, Sensations in Learning and Next Generation believe that learning should be self-directed, similar to a Montessori approach. We believe in having high-quality teachers who provide age-appropriate learning experiences. Provocations are intentionally set up to lure children in to play through curiosity in the morning and afternoon by using our environment as the third teacher. We create guided learning opportunities through our planned curriculum daily. We believe student-guided learning allows children to develop problem-solving skills by thinking through situations in a logical manner. Comparable to a Reggio Emilia program, we believe that children learn through self-expression. We provide these opportunities through art and movement, STEM, and being in nature. Similar to a Waldorf school, the Next Generation mindset is that we believe that children thrive when they have a consistent schedule with familiar routines. When children are prepared for what¿s next they feel secure and are able to fully engage in the learning opportunities provided. At Sensations in Learning we will follow the same mindset using the skillfully built systems provided by Next Generation.
