| Initial Comments: No deficiencies were found at the time of the Initial Licensure Inspection conducted 08/28/2026, subject to changes pending programmatic review. The Compliance Officers provided the child care group home with a paper copy of the Notice of Inspection Rights at the start of the inspection. Five of five fingerprint clearance cards were verified to be valid through the DPS website during the time of the inspection. Items discussed, but not limited to, were as follows: -Immediate access to group home must be granted -DES and Food Program enrollment -Fingerprinting and background check timeframes -Signing in and out for children and staff -Children’s Emergency, Information, and Immunization Record card completion -Staff: files, start date, and training (10-Day and Annual) -Discipline and guidance procedures -Children with Special Needs: Individualized Plan -Mandated Reporting of suspected abuse and neglect -Medication (form, storage, labels, rescue meds, etc.) -Supervision (nap, outside, and inside) -Fire safety: Extinguishers renewed yearly (receipt or tag) and fire/emergency drills monthly -Contact Compliance Officer when any changes are being made to the group home, or if closed on a normally scheduled day -Monitor condition of diaper changing surface -No gaps/spaces of 4 inches or more in fencing/gates -Remove standing water from water tables, equipment, etc. -Post exit maps near front and rear exits of home The child care group home licensure will begin 09/01/2026. | |||
