Mrs. Nicole's In-Home Childcare is a play-based learning environment that provides a safe & fun atmosphere where children can be children. Mrs. Nicole's In-Childcare cares for children of all ages ranging from infants to teens. Mrs. Nicole's patience, understanding, support, guidance and resourcefulness helps support all children & their families to help them to thrive. Your child has the opportunity to make choices based on their individual interests as well as scheduled group activities while in childcare and it's turned into an expanded learning opportunity for everyone.

 

Philosophy

 Mrs. Nicole's In-Home Childcare is a play-based learning program. Where children learn what they are interested in for the day & at their own pace with the help and guidance of Mrs. Nicole. High quality play-based learning teaches children to think creatively so they succeed in a complex and ever-changing world. Play-based learning allows your child to learn the skills of negotiation, problem solving, sharing, manners, working within groups & individually. Children practice decision-making skills, learn to follow directions, move at their own pace and discover their own interests during the day through a variety of educational activities in the childcare home. Purposeful play-based learning is developmentally appropriate and a significant element of any childhood program. Play-based learning improves the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional well-being of children. Through a Play-based program, children learn about the world around them and most importantly about themselves. They also learn important skills they need to get ready for school, work and relationships as they grow.

​I've been volunteering and working with children for 8 years and that's with setting aside my 10 years of motherly experience and younger years of babysitting on the weekends for family and friends since I was 16. I've been doing yearly early childhood educational trainings through Mt. Hood Community College since 2013. I am CPR & 1st aide certified. I have my Childcare food handlers certificate. I am a certified mandatory child abuse and neglect reporter. I have many more other early childhood educational certificates. My husband and I are enrolled in Oregon childcare background registry. I've been serving the David Douglas school district community since 2013. I'm also an active volunteer at our local elementary school since 2014. I also volunteered for Mt. hood community college head start program in 2010 to 2013. I have a beautiful character reference from the director and staff at Mt hood community college head start program. I also have many great references with families I've worked with throughout the years. I look forward to hearing from you and I look forward to serving you for your childcare needs.
