As a condition of securing a license or Certificate of Life/Safety Approval, the sponsor or sponsor representative shall ensure that a Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) fingerprint background check is completed for himself or herself, and for all staff members at least 18 years of age who are or will be working at the center on a regularly- scheduled basis, to determine whether any such person has been convicted of a crime, as specified in P.L. 2000, c. 77 (N.J.S.A. 30:5B-6.10 to 6.17). The sponsor or sponsor representative and each staff member shall complete the electronic fingerprinting process through the vendor authorized by the State to conduct CHRI background checks through the Division of State Police in the Department of Law and Public Safety and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Toileting procedures shall be supervised by a staff member as appropriate for the ages and developmental needs of the children. Violation Observed: Based on information, ensure that adequate supervision is maintained at all times throughout the center, including on the playground. Two named children left the playground and the named staff was unable to get additional assistance without losing sight of the one named child that did not return when verbally redirected to do so. |

Love it! My grandchild is so happy as well as me. The teachers are amazing! Caring, nurturing, and loving. They have a very strong education. The place is extremely clean for an older building, once a local antique shop. The Mount Airy Happy Time School is more than a great place for learning. Their animals (goats) allow the children to receive first hand experiences instead of just reading about them in a book. THANK YOU MOUNT AIRY!

Please explain to me how a staff at a child care facility is not educated in the child care field? The staff is required by the State of NJ to take part in Early Childhood Education trainings and courses for a certain amount of hours per year. Plus, a majority of the staff hold their CDA certifications, have a high degree of education from a college or university, or are still in the process of attending college to seek a degree or certification in Early Childhood Education. The director and staff at Mt. Airy go above and beyond for the children and parents who attend. And why do you say it's not very clean? The staff cleans the toys, furniture, bathrooms and the entire school on a daily basis to keep up to sanitation standards. The teachers give 110% effort and encourage the best for their students and reward their successes. Not only are the teachers an inspiration to the children, but the children also inspire the staff as well. You say that local schools state that students who leave this facility test low academically. These days, the standardized tests that are used in the school systems are not accountable and are unfortunetly damaging to a childs education. I wouldn't base test scores on how smart your child is. Children need to use their imagination and the staff at Mt. Airy assists the children to do so. It is a wonderful childcare center, and in fact, first impressions do say it all...
Not very clean and a very young staff that is not educated in the childcare field. Affordable but not worth it. First impressions say it all, I will not enroll my children. Local schools stated kids coming into kindergarten from this daycare test very low academically.
