Findings: The Licensing Specialist observed a bottle of liquid medication on the top shelf of the children's cubbies. The provider shared that a parent administered the medication during drop off and forgot to take it upon departure. The bottle of liquid medication was immediately locked up during the inspection. Going forward please make sure all potentially harmful items are inaccessible to the children in care.

Findings: During a review of children's records, it was found that MB and NS have no evidence of ever having had a blood lead test. JS and AS each need another blood lead test. Children in Child Care in Maryland are required to have a blood lead test at 12 months and again at 24 months if they were born on or after January 1, 2015. Please notify their respective parents of the need for the blood lead tests so they can arrange the tests with the child's physician. Keep the test results in each child's record. Provide proof of having notified the parents of the need for the blood lead test in writing or provide the blood lead test results for the correction of this non-compliance.

Findings: Provider did not complete the 12 required training hours during the last training period 08/01/2020 - 07/31/2021. Per training certificate dates, 9 hours were completed on 06/01/2022. Provider stated that she completed the training before then, but did not print out the training certificate until 06/01/2022. However, Provider has now completed 24 hours during the 08/2021 - 07/2022 training period. She has, therefore, made up the required training hours. This non-compliance has now been corrected.

2018-08-17 Complaint 13A.15.10.04B Corrected
Findings: Report received that provider was using a slide that had a little pool area at the bottom. Children were seen in the pictures dumping water on their heads in this area. Visit made to day care home. Slide was laying flat in the front yard and the three hoses that are to attach to the slide were not attached. As several pictures show the three hoses are used as sprinklers that the children run through. The hoses are not used attached to the pool as the instructions indicate as per provider" they cause the pool to fill up". Provider showed licensing specialist pictures with children in the pool area with no water. The children are allowed wet sponges and buckets. The provider and her substitute stand on the edges and drain water when it starts to accumulate. Provider's substitute is a certified lifeguard The slide is only out if substitute is present. Provider was going to put small holes in the bottom of the pool however she has a nephew who uses it on the weekends and they let him use the hoses as they are suppose to be used.
