We worked to create an alternative to generic corporate child care chains by building a non-profit center in Mansfield, Massachusetts that was engaging indoors, spaciously natural outdoors, and child-nourishing throughout. We were committed to developing a rich curriculum that brought out the social, emotional, creative, intellectual, and physical capacities of each child.
We have been fortunate to bring together a core of caring and highly motivated people who have helped us make our commitment become a reality.

The campus is beautiful and the facilities are wonderful, but the staff often seems to have an odd affect ... as if they are intentionally trying to show as little connection as possible to the kids and families (although there are one or two teachers who clearly love their work and the kids).
I suspect that this is the result of some overbearing managers, as they seem to have a deeply rooted philosophy about how children should be raised and disciplined.
For me, this was a major sticking point as I sent my kid there to cared for in a safe, fun environment where learning was part of the mix ... not to be critiqued (well, more like bullied) into adapting my parenting style to meet their expectations and "philosophies."
