My daughter has been going for roughly 2 months now, and I've seen good and bad. Some of the things I can let go because it won't matter in 5 years. For example, her daily report paper that they send home with her, will either say she slept well for her nap or didn't sleep at all. There are some days she will come home and go straight to bed and her paper will say she slept well. Every parent/mother knows their kids the best.. I know every mother can agree with me on this. They know how they act when they took a nap and when they didn't. Besides the small factors like that example, there are things I have seen that I'm really concerned about. That would matter in 5 years or a life time. The father or I would drop our daughter off there about 90% of the time in the mornings unless we had to work, then her grandma would take her for us. So the therapist and the employees would recognize us. But the first time my mother went and picked her up one afternoon the facility asked her who she was and had to show her state ID. When my father went to go pick her up one day they handed my daughter over to him without questioning who he was or asked for his State ID. He had to ask them if they needed it and they said "oh yeah i better check." So that next morning I ended up talking to the front receptionist person and they said "we check everyone's ID until we know who you are and recognize you." That had happened about the first or second week she was going there, So after I had talked to her I felt better all the way up until about a week ago. My sister in law (she was on the list for pickup and drop off) went to go pick her up for the very first time and they did not know who she was or who she was there for. They asked her who she was there for, she told them and here they come with my daughter handing her over to my sister in law. (My daughter knows who she is but doesn't see her but maybe a few times a month) my sister in law told me that they didn't ask for her ID or anything. Later that day my dad went to go pick her up and they asked him who he was there for and they said that she had already been picked, he didn't think anything about it and didn't ask who picked her up because he figure I had already gotten her. This is A HUGE concern and not ok at ALL. For her being almost 3 years old and going there for speech therapy, she can't really tell the therapist she doesn't know who that person is!! Anyone can go up there and pick up your kid without questioning who you are. Be careful because I'm not trying to lose my daughter. If Kids unlimited in searcy doesn't fix this I will be going to the local daycare licensing office and taking my kids out of there.
Never, in my years of being a therapist, have I been accused of being unprofessional, incompetent, or unethical before this company. Those in charge, with no therapy experience, oftwn question therapists about therapy techniques. It makes for an uncomfortable atmosphere when employees are constantly watching your every move on camera. Therapists fear write ups for speaking to someone whether it be a question or comment while having a child. Those in charge are overbearing, presumptuous, micromanaging, and untruthful. They will not allow for professional dialogue to take place. Starting pay for therapists is NOT competitive ($42 per hour) and it takes 10 years to reach a level that is close to being competitive ($52 per hour). There is no room for human error. When a mistake is made, rather than bringing it to your attention and allowing you fix it, those in charge allow it to continue, all the while maintaining a record of wrongs, then score you as incompetent on an evaluation. There is a reason the turnover rate is incredibly high.
