Provider Response: (Contact the State Licensing Office for more information.) After speaking to an OCDEL supervisor about the confusing new Announcement C-24-02 that went in force on October 1, 2024, we were informed that we are not allowed to use the school district's non-lidded garbage cans that students use all day long, except when they are in before or after school care, which we disagree with, however, are being told we need to write a plan of correction, so that we can continue to meet the federal regulations and receive grant money. We will not allow our students to throw things in the non-lidded garbage cans the school district provides to us. Rather, we will have the child keep their tissue in their pocket until he/she goes to class (AM care) or gets picked up (PM care), and can then throw it away when they arrive in their classroom. We were originally told that the lidded garbage cans, and "wash your hands" signs were not part of Announcement C-24-02 by OCDEL, so clarification is needed for all. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ |
