As this was explained to the licensing rep on the day of the inspection, the materials are age appropriate for the age of children in the classroom and these materials were not on the shelves for the children to use. The materials in questions, were stored in the teacher area of the classroom and not available to the children. The materials were used as a part of a small group activity that occurred under the direct supervision of the classroom teachers. The teeth marks that were observed did not have any sharp edges or other hazards to the children. The classroom teacher explained to the licensing rep that the bite marks were done by a prior group of children that were not part of our center. The staff person purchased these for the specific use for a small group activity. Staff removed shapes with bite marks from the classroom. |
