Hillside Montessori School, Inc

Hillside Montessori School has been serving Hillside and the surrounding areas since 1997. We provide education and care for children ages six weeks to six years old. Our school consists of nine classrooms; Two Infant rooms, two toddler rooms, two 2 year old rooms and 3 three to six year old rooms. We offer a variety of programs including two or three day a week schedules and preschool programs. Our summer program is a full time summer camp orientated program which serves all ages up to age twelve. We have special events, complete studies on world issues and work with many arts and crafts.

Each Montessori classroom, from birth through kindergarten operates on the same principal of freedom within limits. Children can work alone or with others integrating individual choice and group activities. Through daily observation the teacher decides what activities and materials to introduce into the classroom. The goal is to encourage active, self-directed learning, and strike a balance of individual mastery. We believe in making learning fun and not a forced activity.
