The purpose of Greater Children Development Center is to:
Provide a foundation for growth and development for the rest of a child's life. The aim of the Greater Children Development Center to insure that each child shall grow in the knowledge that God is love and that each part of the day provides opportunities for the child to experience and demonstrate that love to other children and adults.

Minimum staff/child ratios and group sizes for the number and ages of children in care were not met. The caregiver in space 3 left the room to come speak to me in another room. She left the children with a therapist who was in the room working with a child. No staff person was present in the room during the time.

Children were not adequately supervised at all times. When I arrived, I observed the caregivers sitting in the chairs in the playground for the older children while the children were scattered through out the playground, playing and trying to get on the swings. When I went into space 3, I observed a child in the toilet area, alone. The caregiver and the children were in the playground located outside the door which was closed. The teacher in apace 3 left the classroom to come speak to me in another room. There was no staff member present in space 3 other than the therapist who was working with a child.

Electrical outlets and power strips, not in use, which were located in space used by children did not have safety outlets or were not covered with safety plugs unless located behind furniture or equipment that cannot be moved by a child. 4 outlets in space 2 and 1 outlet in space 3 in the activity areas were not covered.

A safe indoor and outdoor environment was not provided for the children. 'The mulch around the stationary equipment did not extend out the required distance. There was a hole, 10-12 inches in diameter and 6 inches deep, next to the landing at the preschool room exit door used by the children to access the playground.'
