Description: Glen Arden Elementary School is nestled in the south area of Buncombe County in Arden, North Carolina. Our dedicated staff prepares 500+ students from Kindergarten to Fourth Grade to be ready for the challenging academic courses in the North Carolina school system. We are a part of the Buncombe County Public School District.
Glen Arden was constructed in 1971 and was unique in that it was the first elementary school built in Buncombe County in 20 years and it featured an open classroom concept.
In 2001 Glen Arden completed a 14 room addition along with enclosing the open existing classrooms.
Glen Arden is a School of excellence and has achieved Exemplary Growth for seven years consecutively. It is one of only two schools in North Carolina to have achieved this honor.

Children were not adequately supervised at all times. An incident that occurred on 5/2/2023. At approximately 10:55 am a child slipped out the door while the lunch cart was being wheeled in by the assistant. He was located right outside the door within 1-2 minutes by the teacher. |
