Findings: On January 8, 2024, a complaint was received alleging the following: a staff member "slammed a child a little bit on a cot and held his head down." Another staff member asked the director if they needed help and the director replied she was gong to sit with the child. On January 11, 2024, the Licensing Specialist and another state agency representative made an unannounced visit to the center. The Licensing Specialist interviewed four staff members individually. One staff reported that she was not aware of this reported incident; however she had other concerns of the way the director treated children on this particular day. This staff reported that she observed around 9:15 am, the director was attempting to have a child sit down during circle time. This child continued to get up during this time. Reportedly, the director grabbed this child by the arms & sat him down. She told the child firmly to sit down & the child cried. The child got back up and reportedly the director grabbed the child by the arms again and sat the child down. The child continued to cry. See additional comments section. | |||
