The staff indicated that the director was out on an emergency and that the owner would be coming in to fill in where he was needed. The aide in the 2s/3s room said that there would be 11 total children in the classroom today and that Dr. Adon would be filling in for the lead teacher since she was out on medical leave and the director was also out on leave.

Findings: When the Licensing Specialist arrived at the center, the preschool aide for the 2s/3s was in the opening room with 6 total children - 2 of the children were toddlers. The other 4 children were 3 and 4 years old. Two more children arrived making it a total of 8 children. This made the room out of ratio. Then the Infant/Toddler aide came in the room and took the 2 toddlers to the Infant/Toddler room. Then 3 more children arrived for a total of 9 children in the opening room. The lead preschool teacher for the 4s/5s arrived and took 6 children to her classroom, leaving 3 children with the preschool aide. The preschool aide indicated that the lead teacher for the 2s/3s room was out on medical leave and that the owner would be covering for her since the director was also out on leave. She indicated that she would have 11 children today. The infant/toddler aide indicated that she would have 6 children today and that the owner would be covering for the lead teacher who resigned last week. The owner would not be able to cover for both the lead teacher in the 2s/3s room and the lead infant/toddler teacher.
