About the Provider
We are a Christian learning center, focused on strong educational development and a loving, nurturing environment. We use the Apple Annie curriculum beginning @ 12 months. It is a progressive curriculum that focuses on alphabet, shapes, numbers and colors. Initially we work to build vocabulary, then delve into shapes, colors and alphabet. 2 year old expectations are mastery of shapes and colors, and working diligently on potty-training. They have math and science activities daily. Alphabet and counting activities are also learned. 3 year old expectations are review of shapes and colors, introduction of days, & months of the year. Math is increased with more complex exercises. Letters begin with upper case and introduce lower case the second semester. With tracing at first, they are able to write them more successfully by the end of the school year. Our preschool classroom places high expectations on our children, readying them for kindergarten. They take an initial evaluation of alphabet (upper case, lower case recognition, writing and sound), days of the week, months of the year, counting, shapes, colors, rhyming and patterns. They have science and math more extensively, so they may fully understand patterns and rhythms needed for math and they understand the scientific processes. They have a word wall and sight words that they practice daily. We feel our children will be well prepared for the classroom setting at school because of the curriculum we offer.
