Garden Path School offers full-day enriched early education to a maximum of 12 preschool and kindergarten children per day, with two experienced teachers. Children are encouraged to grow and thrive here. The children experience hands-on activities, purposeful play, in-depth projects, character development, and developmentally appropriate early school skills. Parents receive photos and videos in real time throughout the day, as well as an end-of-the-day report of curriculum activities, menu, and your child's nap time. Owner/Teacher Angela Mayfield, M.Ed. has over 30 years of experience in the field of early childhood education. Her philosophy is developmental, play-based, cooperative, early academic, Montessori, Reggio Emelia, and outdoors/nature-based.
Additional Information:Angela brings her experience and high standards to this program. She has taught Preschool and Kindergarten in a variety of public and private settings throughout her career. She has been through NAEYC accreditation several times throughout her 30+ years of teaching. She has taught and supervised teachers in several schools and districts with NAEYC accreditation, including One Hope United, KinderCare, and the Somerville, MA and Vernon Hills, IL Public Schools. She has served as a NAEYC accreditation consultant to the Somerville, MA Public Schools.

I have had both of my children attend Garden Path School, each beginning at around 2 years old. One currently attends, and the other has "graduated" to kindergarten. I could not have asked for a better experience for our family. Angela is incredibly gifted at meeting each child's specific needs, and working with the child as well as the family to ensure that the children are in a safe and enriching environment. My children have flourished academically, socially and emotionally. The curriculum is creative and flexible, with a good leaning towards STEM and problem solving. One of the things that I love most about GP is that children of all ages are in the same classroom, creating an intricate social structure. There is also strong communication with parents and many opportunities to connect with other families.
I can't say enough how much I love Garden Path School and what a blessing it has been for our family!
