Life's Little Stages

We just terminated our care with this provider. She started off being very accommodating and then Covid happened. After stating there would be a spot for my 4-month-old following my maternity leave, she decided to refused care 2 weeks INTO my maternity leave until my child was one because it was "too hard to follow covid precautions".Then proceeded to adjust her contract to state I must keep contracted hours for my older child in order to keep my spot for my baby (while increasing prices). We were devastated to not have safe childcare during covid and on short notice.  We continued to go to her because it was small, and our child was established (plus more scared of the unknown). Progressed to less communication of what was going on during the day; more tv being used all day; and other children becoming to uncontrollable. Followed by her accepting another 4 month old negating everything she said to us!! The last straw was when we were on a teacher contract (no summer service because we work in a school district) and she stated my child would not be able to start until the Sept 12th with no reason provided and two weeks notice!!!  We believe she would have been caring for more than 2 children under the age of 2. How a person who cared for my children for 4 years and a mother could treat children like that? we were terrified trying to find childcare with people we could trust when all the daycares were full because school had already started, and she gets no repercussion.  It must be a mental breakdown or something.... We are so grateful we are now in a wonderful daycare and so happy to be away from her.
